We at Tests Direct are proud to have been selected by the British Psychological Society (BPS) to run a Professional Development Workshop as part of next year’s Division of Occupational Psychology (DOP) Annual Conference. The workshop will take place at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool, on the morning of Wednesday 4 January 2017, and qualifies participants to become advanced users of Credo – Tests Direct’s powerful new personality questionnaire.
The workshop’s facilitator, Dan Brieger, elaborates: “The workshop is an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to discover more about the latest developments in personality assessment and how to apply them in recruitment and selection, development and coaching, and team building. It is also a great way for existing users to deepen their understanding of Credo and compare notes with fellow users from other organisations. Like all our training, the workshop has been designed and delivered by experts using the latest teaching technologies and first-class training materials”.
This is the second year Tests Direct has been asked to take part in this prestigious event, and Ian Richardson, Commercial Director of Tests Direct, explains the significance: “The BPS is the UK's leading representative body for the psychological profession, so the invitation is a measure of the impact Tests Direct is having on the world of occupational testing. It shows that as well as pioneering the latest assessment tools, we are strongly committed to enabling users to apply them to best advantage. Openly sharing our expertise at events like this is part of what we mean when we talk about the democratisation of psychometrics.”

Dan and Ian would of course be delighted to see as many of Tests Direct’s friends and colleagues in January as possible. The event is free to registered conference delegates, although attendees must as a minimum register for one day of the conference, which for non-society members costs £375. This also includes lunch, access to all the conference sessions, networking events, and the exhibition area. The DOP Annual Conference is relevant to anyone interested in the latest research and practical developments in psychometrics, so is worth checking out in its own right. Be aware however that bookings, both for the Tests Direct workshop and for the DOP Conference, are going fast - don't leave it long before signing up.
The Liverpool workshop is but one of many training programmes offered by Tests Direct. These cover all aspects of test practice, from online administration through to internationally recognised qualifications in ability and personality testing. Click here to view our training packages. We do this because of our core belief that discerning and well-informed customers will get the most value from using our tests.
Finally, we are honoured that Jonathan Cox, Head of Product Development for Tests Direct, has been nominated for the DOP's Volunteer of the Year Award for his contribution to Occupational Psychology. We will bring you more details of this and other news in future articles.
